This week, we have done many different activities, and we have explored Madrid and a few nearby places. Each activity was somewhat enlightening, and all of our group agree that the things we have done this past week made us appreciate how ´classical´times light the way to our future. Now, we will present to you some of the photos that embody what we have been doing.

On the first day in spain(Friday), the English and their spanish corespondents went bowling, in the huge commercial center here called ´Parquesur´
On saturday, the Spanish and English went to a collosal theme park, called 'Parque de atracciones' It was a fantastic day, one that all participants enjoyed thoroughly, and the biggest theme park in Madrid really did live up to its name.
On Saturday the Spanish students and their French correspondants went to the shopping center ´Parquesur´ , and they too opted to go bowling aswell. Later on in the day, they went to 'Parque Europa'. Parque Europa is a park situated in Madrid, designed to showcase some of the finest works of sculpting in all of Madrid. The park displays masterpieces of art made with several materials.
On Saturday the Spanish students and their Turkish correspondents went to 'Complutum' (Alcalá de Henares). In the afternoon they visited the world reknowned  'Santiago Bernabeu ' stadium, home of the most successful club in football history ´Real Madrid. After going to the stadium, they went to eat ´Tapas´(a typical type of spanish food) in a restaurant in Alcalá de Henares.

During the week, so far we have been to Madrid, Toledo and Carranque, which were visits tailored to enlighten us of how classical times has influenced our lives today, while also enhancing the cultural understanding of all involved.

On Tuesday, the school took us to Madrid, which was a fantastic experience. The spanish Capital proudly boasts some of the most beautiful buildings in all of Europe, aswell as being a fountain of cultural and classical knowledge. For example, aswell of Santi gifting us with his extensive knowledge of the history of the city, the school also supplied us with educational packs to supplement our understanding of the classical influences and links displayesd in Madrid.

We also saw a lot of different Velzaquez pictures that were about mythology. Here there are some examples.

These phtos depict various pieces of spanish art, all of which are proudly displayed in the ´Museo de Prado´ which is located in the centre of Madrid, next to the statue of Neptune that seems to maintain a watchful eye over the neverending flow of cars that pass on the roads either side.
